Most of us, during difficult times in our lives, know that we are carrying our cross in life. By uniting our sufferings and our struggles with that of Christ on the Cross, our life has meaning. Carrying the cross is never easy. And, we tend to be thankful when the weight of the cross is not on our shoulders.
But, Jesus Christ asks more of us. He wants us to trust Him completely, even in our suffering. He wants us to seek the Cross, to run to the Cross, in order to share in His plan for our salvation and the salvation of the world.
We are Catholic. We have the Eucharist to strengthen us so that we have the courage and strength to run to the Cross. Seek the Cross everyday by offering up small sacrifices to the Lord. Prayer, fasting, and alms giving are great ways to run to the Cross daily.
Ponder: Do you run to the cross, accept the cross, or avoid the cross in your daily life?
Reflection: Sacred Scripture: 2 Cor 4:8-18
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I abandon myself into your hands. Do with me what you will everyday. Jesus, I trust in You
